Hannah Thompson-Smith – Violin

Hannah was born in Devon. She graduated from Birmingham Conservatoire in 2004 having studied with Philippe Graffin, Jacqueline Ross, and Baroque violinist Nicolette Moonen. After completing a postgraduate at the RNCM in 2006, she moved to Sheffield, continuing her studies with Robin Ireland. Hannah enjoys a varied career of teaching and performing. She is Strings co-ordinator for Rotherham Music and Music coordinator at Aston All Saints Primary School. As a freelance violinist she gives regular solo recitals and plays in a number of chamber ensembles. She leads the Rotherham Symphony Orchestra, which she helped to establish in 2017, and guest leads Hallam Sinfonia in Sheffield.
