Lucy Phillips

Lucy Phillips – Violin

Lucy was born in Boston, Lincolnshire. In 2003 she graduated from the University of York where she studied violin with Jonathan Sparey and Simon Jones. During her time there she developed a particular interest in Baroque music and took part in a masterclass with Andrew Manze. She then completed a Masters in performance at the University of Limerick. In 2009 Lucy moved to Sheffield to develop her work as a freelance performer and teacher. She specialises in chamber music and is in a duo with Jonny. She also collaborates with organist Mark Swinton, with whom she recorded her CD The Lark in the Chapel. Since October 2016 Lucy has been teaching violin at the Department of Music of the University of Sheffield.
