Sunday 22nd September 2019, 3pm – Afternoon concert in Fulwood Old Chapel, Sheffield

This afternoon concert features three bright and bubbly quartets. Haydn’s Quartet op. 33 no. 2 is nicknamed ‘The Joke’, and reflects the composer’s love of practical jokes! Dvořák’s ‘American’ quartet is one of our favourites to perform, and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. We will also give the first ever performance of Ray Kohn’s String Quartet no. 14, which he describes as ‘happy’.

Haydn – Quartet in E-flat major, op. 33 no. 2 ‘The Joke’

Kohn – Quartet no. 14 * world premiere performance

Dvořák – Quartet in F major, op. 96 ‘American’

The concert will last around an hour, with no interval. Tickets: £10; under-18s £2 (on the door, cash only).

Fulwood Old Chapel, Whiteley Lane, Sheffield S10 4GL
